Aegis Grid Algo Setup Guide

This guide will help you link your demo account, configure MetaTrader 5, and launch your first automated trading cycle step by step.

Prerequisites

A valid MetaTrader 5 (MT5) Demo Account
Aegis Grid Demo plan selected on website
Stable internet connection
A Windows VPS is recommended for 24/5 uptime
Basic knowledge of MT5 platform navigation

Phase 1: Getting Your Demo License

Create Your Demo Trading Account

Before you register on the Aegis Grid website, you must first create a demo trading account with your broker. This demo account will be used for testing the algo safely before connecting anything to a real account.

How to create the demo account

Account type:Demo
Platform:MT5
Starting balance:200,000
Currency:USD
Leverage:Choose Maximum

Why the balance should be 200,000

We set the demo balance to 200,000 because later, the algo will be used on a cent account (200,000 cents = 2,000 dollars). This setup ensures your demo testing is closer to the real environment.

What information you must save

MT5 Account IDe.g. 12345678
Broker Servere.g. Exness-MT5Trial6

You will need these in the next step to register.

Register on the Website

Navigate to the Aegis Grid product page and scroll down to the pricing section to begin your free demo registration.

Open Aegis Grid Page
  • Click the "3 Months Free Demo" button.
  • Select the Aegis Grid Demo plan.
  • Click "Try 3 Months Free Demo".

Complete the Verification Popup

A verification window will appear. It is critical that you provide accurate information to link your account to our license server.

Technical Support Options

Choose your preferred setup method. If you want our team to install everything for you via AnyDesk, select Premium Setup Support ($5).

Installation Choice:

Self Setup: Type "0" in the Transaction ID box if following this guide.
Premium Setup: Enter your Payment Transaction ID for remote assistance.

Verification Results & Download

Click "Complete Activation". If your details are valid for a demo account, you will see a success message immediately.

Registration Successful!

Click the Download Aegis Grid Algo button to get your .ex5 file.

Note: Real account IDs will be automatically blocked on the Demo plan.

Phase 2: Installation in MetaTrader 5

Install MetaTrader 5 on a VPS

For best results, we strongly recommend running Aegis Grid on a VPS (Virtual Private Server). This ensures your algo remains online 24/5 even when your personal computer is turned off.

How to set it up

If you don't have MetaTrader 5 installed, you can download it from the official website:

Download MetaTrader 5

After downloading the setup file, follow these steps:

  • Copy the setup file to your VPS and install it there.
  • Open MT5 and log in with the Account ID and Server you saved earlier.

Note about AWS EC2

A VPS is recommended for stable 24/7 operation. AWS EC2 is a popular choice, and new users may qualify for AWS Free Tier credits (approx. $200) to get started on your cloud setup.

Place the Software File

Now, let's place the logic file inside your MetaTrader 5 terminal's internal directory. You can download the latest .ex5 file from our Official Google Drive.

  • Copy the downloaded .ex5 file.
  • Open MT5 → File (top menu) → Open Data Folder.
  • Navigate to: MQL5 → Experts.
  • Paste the file here.
  • Restart MT5: Close and reopen the platform to load the Algo.

Enable Global Platform Settings

The Algo requires specific permissions to execute trades and communicate with our verification servers.

Algo Trading: Click the button on the top toolbar until it turns GREEN.

Configure WebRequests:

Go to Tools → Options → Expert Advisors. Check "Allow WebRequest" and add these URLs:

Attach the EA to XAUUSD

Finally, attach the algorithm to a Gold chart with the correct timeframe settings.

  • Open XAUUSD (Gold) chart.
  • Select M1 (1 Minute) timeframe.
  • Navigator Panel → Expert Advisors → Aegis Grid Algo.
  • Drag onto the chart and ensure "Allow Algo Trading" is checked in the Common tab.

Phase 3: Confirming Activation

Verify the Dashboard

Look at the Aegis Grid Dashboard overlay on your MT5 chart. If everything is correct, it should show:

Status: Authorized
Expiry Visible

Check the top right corner of your chart for a Blue Cap or Smiley Face icon to confirm the EA is active.

How to Update to a New Version

When we release a new version of the Algo, follow these steps to stay updated:

Download

Visit the Official Google Drive and download the new .ex5 file.

Open Folder

In MT5: File → Open Data Folder → MQL5 → Experts.

Replace

Delete the old version and paste the new version while MT5 is closed.

Verify

Launch MT5 and check the version number on your chart dashboard.
Download Latest .ex5 File

Troubleshooting Checklist

Always use the correct MT5 Account ID for Demo server.

Ensure both URLs are added to the WebRequest list.

The Algo Trading button MUST be green at all times.

Use the M1 (1-Minute) timeframe specifically for Aegis Grid.
